Reiki healings are carried out in a relaxing atmosphere with soft soothing music in the background. The recipient remains fully clothed while lying on a therapy couch. There is no manipulation involved and the treatment is deeply relaxing. The sensations experienced vary from person to person depending on the reason for their visit. They may feel deep heat, tingling or even just a sence of peace and tranquility. There is no right or wrong way to feel. This treatment is beneficial to all from the young to the elderly. Reiki level 1 is mainly aimed at self healing and at this level you will become attuned to the reiki energy and learn how to work with it and once you are attuned to reiki you have it for life. Reiki 2 takes your healing to a deeper level and you will learn to work on the emotional and mental level. Reiki 3 and Masters is for those who wish to learn how to teach and pass on this healing energy to others. Karuna Therapy is similar to Reiki and is given as a treatment or you can learn and be attuned once you have learned Usui Reiki. There are three levels and the teaching is open to all who have learnt Reiki. Reiki teaching courses are held at various times throughout the year. Each student is then invited to attend monthly meetings where they can exchange ideas, give, receive healings or put forward any suggestions or problems they may have and discuss them with other like minded people.
